Planning

Brief: Television

  • Filming location- My filming location would be in the school theatre. I need to ask the person in charge if I could use it. I need to find a timing that everyone is free including the audience, I think I would either do this at after school or lunch time. As for my second location I would like to film the interviews outside or in home. I need make sure that the people who are volunteering to be in this media project are willing to do all of the things that are required to do as there is some things that may be embarrassing.  Health and safety issues, will include the trophy that would be on something bright and gold to make it appealing.
  • Story Board- --> Host= Rhys--> Contestent= Quako

Audience List
  1. Sophie
  2. Mateena
  3. Lydia

  • Construction Of Narrative-  The disruption the game show would be the each round each player gets eliminated. This would therefore makes conflict between each player as they are trying to win the £500. The resolution of this game is that someone will win at the end of the show. I have chosen to do this as there might not be anyone who would do something like this also it will be funny and fun to create.
  • Camera Shot List- Middle shot for the interviews. There would be a variety of shots when filming the game show. I would have long shot with as this is the optimum shot for having all of the players in there. However when the players are doing their rounds I would have middle shot as well as close up shot on the players to show their emotion/ determination to win the £500.
  • List Of Sounds- The diegetic sounds I would  be using are when the audience would be clapping, shouting and oohing, and when the players are speaking. The non-diegetic sounds would be the theme tune which I would have to make to override some parts of the show, to make it more like a game show. I would also have sound effects to make it more of a game show.
  • Editing- I would have quick transitions between scenes to convey the comedy aspect of the show.

Life on Mars

EPISODE 1

The first episode of 'Life on Mars', starts of with the mixture of the episode and the credit. Cutting off into the credits creates tension, as well as the fact that music builds up the tension, as it is fast paced.  The low shot angle at the wheel, makes the audience understand the urgency of this, what seems to be a car chase. The camera looks like it is being hand held so this makes the audience feel like they are in the chase with the detective. Hence, setting the crime motif of the tv show. The enigmas of the tv show is how did he go back in time and will he come back to the present day. There is close up shot for the evidence. He is dressed in 70s clothings, old cars suggesting that he has gone back in the day. There was a scene where the camera is scanning across the office, giving the audience a sense of the setting of where the main character is. Showing the difference in the modern investigation and the olden day investigation, it is when there is no evidence bad and the policemen was smoking inside the building. However, through sound it shows that the present is still here as we still here the beep from the monitor in the hospital. Connoting that he is still alive but he is probably in a coma, making all of this unreal, dream. There was a scene showing the main character against the olden days people, this could be suggesting that the men is against the main character. There was some unrestricted things as there is not much things that the audience knows, for example will he solve the case? will he wake up from coma?

Statment and Aims

Statement And Aims

For my media production, I have chosen to do Brief 1 which includes making a cross- media production for a mainstream commercial broadcaster. Targeting an audience of 18-35-year-old 'millennials'. I have decided to do a game show, which would be the genre of comedy. This game is different to other game shows as they do not relate to the audience of the ages 18- 35, this may also be a family friendly show as well. The plot of this game show is completing social media challenges under time limit. There will not be a judge, the audience is to determine who the winner is. This would-be ITV commercial broadcaster, I have chosen ITV due to the fact that they are mostly known for broadcasting game shows. The location of the game show will be taking place in the college's performing arts theatre. I would have an audience sitting in the seats. There would be four contestants taking part of the game. With each challenge that the contestants will go through, one contestant will be eliminated if they do not complete the task in the time limit. The aim of the game is to win the £500 which will be placed in a briefcase. The conflict will be amongst the contestants fighting to win the £500. To include another filming location, I will be taking interviews for each contestant introducing themselves to the audience and telling them why they want to win the show. This location will either be home based or based outside. The challenges will include the following: text fast, best impressions of memes that are relevant to the age group, dance off (there will be a random music and then they have to dance to it), as well as trying not to laugh challenge. There might be more challenges. To determinate the winner of each round we will have the audience to scream or clap, the contestant that receives the most wins the round. The show will have a host that will direct everything. The brief case will be on something that would make it sparkly and nice, as there is something desirable in there. I will be using the projection board to have the background of everything, however I will have to make some props for the background decorations and for the contestants to use. For the magazine, I will be making this very colourful and bright, as this is a comedy show. In the magazine, I will include snapshots of the first episode, also include the day and time that this will air on ITV. In the magazine, I will say the plot of the game, and using some persuasive language to intrigue the viewer into watching the show. The front cover of the magazine will have the poster of the show there along with other aspects of the magazine, like price and page numbers, I will also include a plug of a voucher to intrigue the viewer to look at the magazine.
