Statment and Aims

Statement And Aims

For my media production, I have chosen to do Brief 1 which includes making a cross- media production for a mainstream commercial broadcaster. Targeting an audience of 18-35-year-old 'millennials'. I have decided to do a game show, which would be the genre of comedy. This game is different to other game shows as they do not relate to the audience of the ages 18- 35, this may also be a family friendly show as well. The plot of this game show is completing social media challenges under time limit. There will not be a judge, the audience is to determine who the winner is. This would-be ITV commercial broadcaster, I have chosen ITV due to the fact that they are mostly known for broadcasting game shows. The location of the game show will be taking place in the college's performing arts theatre. I would have an audience sitting in the seats. There would be four contestants taking part of the game. With each challenge that the contestants will go through, one contestant will be eliminated if they do not complete the task in the time limit. The aim of the game is to win the £500 which will be placed in a briefcase. The conflict will be amongst the contestants fighting to win the £500. To include another filming location, I will be taking interviews for each contestant introducing themselves to the audience and telling them why they want to win the show. This location will either be home based or based outside. The challenges will include the following: text fast, best impressions of memes that are relevant to the age group, dance off (there will be a random music and then they have to dance to it), as well as trying not to laugh challenge. There might be more challenges. To determinate the winner of each round we will have the audience to scream or clap, the contestant that receives the most wins the round. The show will have a host that will direct everything. The brief case will be on something that would make it sparkly and nice, as there is something desirable in there. I will be using the projection board to have the background of everything, however I will have to make some props for the background decorations and for the contestants to use. For the magazine, I will be making this very colourful and bright, as this is a comedy show. In the magazine, I will include snapshots of the first episode, also include the day and time that this will air on ITV. In the magazine, I will say the plot of the game, and using some persuasive language to intrigue the viewer into watching the show. The front cover of the magazine will have the poster of the show there along with other aspects of the magazine, like price and page numbers, I will also include a plug of a voucher to intrigue the viewer to look at the magazine.
